Do You Paint Wheels?
- Yes we do after we have completed the repair process on your wheels. We have the normal colors that are painted on the wheels and we can also customize the color if you choose to. We can also custom paint new wheels.
Can any and every wheel be repaired?
- Not every wheel can be repaired but most can.
How long have you been doing this?
- Wheelguard was started in 2000. We have been repairing wheels for 9 years.
What type of wheels do you repair?
- We repair aluminum alloy wheels as well as hubcaps. We also repair steel wheels. Unfortunately at this time we DO NOT re-plate chrome.
Is your repair work warranted?
- All repairs done on your wheels have a limited lifetime warranty on them. We guarantee that our work is 100% against inferior workmanship. If you the customer are not completely satisfied, we will redo the wheel free of charge. Our warranty does not cover the damage to wheels resulting from improper care, repair or handling, incorrect assembly, unsuitable wheel weights, use of acidic cleaners, stone chips, abrasions, accidents or other remote impacts.
How long do repairs take?
- On the average repairs take approximately one to two hours when repairing all four wheels. Some repairs can take longer depending on the severity of the damage to the wheel.
Can you paint wheels in cold or damp weather?
- Yes, we can it just might take a little longer for the paint and clear coat to cure.
Can you repair all types of damage?
- We can fix curbed wheels and cosmetic scratches if it is something more serious you can send it to our sister company Rim Technologies which straightens, machines, polishes and welds cracks.
Do I need to make an appointment to have my wheel repaired?
- We prefer customers to call our office and set up appointments for repairs.
Will the colors match after the repair?
- Yes the colors on your wheels will match after the repair has been finished.
What does clear coat contamination look like?
- It can have either a white or yellow powdery appearance. It can also look like it is flaking off or there can be a spider vein appearance on the surface of the rim.
How much does it cost to repair a wheel?
- It depends on what services are necessary to repair the wheel. We do have very competitive pricing when compared to others in the industry.
Can you custom paint my wheels?
- Yes, we can custom paint wheels just for you and your car. We can even put art work on your wheels.
What's the difference between machined or polished wheels?
- Polished wheels have a mirror like finish (chrome like appearance). Machined wheels have "lathing lines" which appear on the face of the wheel. Lathing lines look like the grooves of a vinyl record.
Do you refinish chrome wheels?
- No, unfortunately we do not refinish chrome wheels since we do not re-plate chrome.
Do you require full payment on wheel repair?
- Yes, we require full payment at the time the repair is performed on your wheel. We do not accept credit or debit cards. Checks, money orders or cash will be accepted by our technicians in the field.
Can you repair wheels on foreign made automobiles?
- We can repair any make or model from an Acura to a Yugo. We repair all domestic or foreign vehicles.
